The box opens on a hinge in the back. The front of the box has a metal latch to secure the top to the bottom. There is a small metal carrying handle on the front of the box. There are thirteen storage compartments inside of the box for slides. There are two taped pieces on the light box to hold one or two negatives or positives. The cord for the light box is wrapped up on the inside of the top lid.
Ten of the compartments approximately measure 3 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" deep x 3 1/4" tall. Two of the compartments approximately measure 3 1/4" wide x 1 5/8" deep x 3 1/4" tall. One of the compartments approximately measures 6 5/16" wide x 1" deep x 3 1/4" tall.
The dimensions of the glass on the light box are approximately 5 5/8" x 3 3/8".
The overall dimensions of the box are 6 5/8" wide x 10 1/4" deep x 5 3/4" tall.
