THIS SET OF TWO VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE REPRINTS FROM 1992 BY PHOTOGRAPHER STEPHEN SIMPSON. THE PHOTOS MEASURE 8 INCHES BY 10 INCHES EACH AND ARE IN EXCELLENT COSMETIC CONDITION.

Cordelia (Smith) King, widow of Alexander King. She resided here until her death in 1911.The sham castle structure in the background is a garden folly built by her son, Robert Burns King and sometimes called “King’s Folly”. Garden follies were constructed by the wealthy in an attempt to create a “romantic landscape”. They were more common in England and were rare in this U.S. This is the only one of the original towers remains standing.
